Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a individual who jumped a fence and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A circulating footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to attend court on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

Record of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed features clips of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last year.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Voice Worry Over the Star's Past Trauma

Several fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more response on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised event staff at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while some requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Many of Singapore fans had queued up to meet the cast of Wicked

Numerous of supporters had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.

The film, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the well-known stage musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely friendship between two very different witches.

The production itself is a adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of last year in the UK, and received ten Academy Award nods, winning several for best costume and set decoration.
