The latest action-packed game that players experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing chaos and mayhem with equal excitement, all while telling gripping, ideologically themed narratives. It’s no surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those things.
Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game property, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a fresh location and ensemble in each season.
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the creator.
“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners always encourages me with their steady confidence and assistance.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every title is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always delving into the nature of people through this intricate and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and present our common unconventional, daring style to the television.”
A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
