Fulham Begin Powerfully to Beat Spurs and Increase Pressure on Frank
Spurs fans who booed keeper Vicario were told later "they cannot be true Tottenham supporters" by boss Frank.
Spurs conceded two scores in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, marking their 10th top-flight home defeat of the year.
However the primary talking point was Fulham's second goal when Vicario lost possession far outside his area.
The goalkeeper ventured out to handle a long ball and carried the ball near the sideline.
However, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italian turned and attempted to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Harry Wilson and was collected by Josh King.
The forward passed the ball off to Welsh midfielder Wilson, who bent a shot into the net from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six metres.
Seconds afterwards when the ball came to the keeper once more, some Tottenham supporters booed him.
Spurs were jeered off at the interval, with the side 2-0 behind, and again at the final whistle.
A particular of those booing sessions truly irritated the manager.
"It came to my attention some of our fans apparently jeered the situation and booed following, which, in my opinion is completely unacceptable," the Danish manager stated regarding the fans' response to his goalkeeper.
"Those individuals can't be true Tottenham supporters that do that. Fair enough booing following the game, fine, but when we are in play, we are backing one another, we are with each other moving ahead."
Kenny Tete had given Fulham a early advantage prior to Harry Wilson's goal – with Kudus netting for Tottenham in an better second-half showing.
Ex- Premier League keeper Hart stated that the next goal was "completely preventable".
"I certainly appreciate the supporters' frustration," Hart added. "I know the role Vicario is performing. He is a great team player, he's a true leader in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.
"The keeper was deeply involved in what ended up to be the winning goal."
Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario Following the Game
Italian international the keeper is in his 3rd season with Spurs.
The 29-year-old said after the match that he had to accept the feedback.
"The second goal was a error of my own, I accept accountability for that," he said.
"My aim was to clear the ball long and I just hit the ball in a poor manner. That made an even bigger mountain to overcome."
He said receiving jeers "is part of the game".
"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he added. "The team cannot be affected by the situation in the stands. Supporters have the entitlement to do as they see fit.
"It's on the team to stay more composed, to focus on ourselves. The team is missing in calmness and poise to reverse outcomes. This match is a bad defeat and it's hard to accept."
Despite the keeper's mistake, it was not an easy goal for Harry Wilson to score.
Actually it was the next longest-range top division goal of the campaign – after Tyler Adams' 43.3 metre goal for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally also occurred on the same day.
Wilson stated he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an empty goal to target.
Ten moments passed between Vicario coming out of his area and the midfielder shooting – which was five seconds after the kick.
"I felt like the keeper was away from the area for a long time," he remarked.
"It amazed me none of the defenders returned to the line. When none of them defended the goal, my interest lit up somewhat.
"[Destiny] Udogie fell as well, which allowed me a little extra time. Then it was solely about attempting to achieve the right connection and place it towards goal. I had a good sense, the moment it came off my foot, that it was heading in."
Booing Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Totally Unacceptable - the Manager
While the keeper's error dominated headlines, this was an overall bad performance for Tottenham to continue their home ground woes.
This was their 10th home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, a joint club record matching nineteen ninety-four and 2003.
They still have home fixtures against the manager's old side the Bees and title holders Liverpool to come prior to the close of the season.
Just a single of those wins have come after Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.
"When you're behind 2-0 after the opening, there is a mountain to climb," stated Frank.
"When you're in a bad spell, all aspects appears to go against you as well – the opening was a deflected shot, the second is a error from Vic.
"This result leaves us in a position where we have suffered an additional game. Each fixture has a unique narrative, this game we were defeated in the early stages.
"We simply need to continue striving. The later period was significantly improved and with luck an aspect we can utilize to develop."
Tottenham have lost 4 straight home London derbies for the initial time in the top division.
And they are recording 9.5 shots and 3.2 shots on target per game in the division – their lowest averages on file in a one campaign (since at least 2003-04).
Ex- Fulham midfield player Danny Murphy commented that the manager has to endure the criticism.
"He must take the criticism," the pundit said. "He has accepted a high profile job at a major football club with massive anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that accompanies that.
"Their showings at home have been poor and they have to improve {quickly|
